Adjustable gastric band procedure most commonly know as the lap band surgery is less invasive when compare to gastric bypass surgery and has a shorter recovery time than the latter. 1.The lap band surgery is not a wise choice for people with Cardiopulmonary disease, people with this disease are considered to be bad candidates for this surgery.
2. Slippage, Esophageal dilation, and possible erosion of the lap band can happen.
3. Ulcerations and irritation of the stomach tissue is a possibility.
4. If you are over the age of 45 you may be considered to be a high risk for this surgery.
5. Some patients complain of Abdominal pain, hernias, infections, nausea, vomiting and wound infections etc.
